The Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH) has informed all users of x-ray machine in a circular dated 21 October, 1999 of its intention to implement a mandatory Quality Assurance Programme (QAP) in line with MS838.

This has been implemented since 1 January, 2000 and is currently enforced annually as a criteria in the application or renewal of x-ray operating license issued by MOH (more on MOH licensing requirements)

This QA certification process can only be performed by a class H license holder approved by MOH, and Allied Physics is licensed by MOH (license no. KKM/0111) for the following categories of equipment:

• GENERAL X-RAY UNIT
• MOBILE C-ARM
• FLUOROSCOPY UNIT
• ANGIOGRAPHY UNIT
• MAMMOGRAPHY UNIT
• COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY
• POSITRON EMISSION TOMOGRAPHY
